Supervised, progressive exercise programs designed and delivered by certified kinesiologists — bridging the gap between passive treatment and full recovery for ICBC, WorkSafeBC, and post-surgical patients.
Active rehabilitation at Move to Motion is led by certified kinesiologists — university-trained movement specialists with expertise in exercise physiology, biomechanics, and injury rehabilitation. Unlike passive treatments that address pain in the moment, active rehab rebuilds the physical capacity your body needs to function, perform, and stay healthy long-term.
Every active rehab program begins with a functional assessment — measuring strength, range of motion, endurance, and movement quality relative to the demands of your job, sport, or daily life. From this baseline, we design a progressive program that systematically closes the gap between your current capacity and your recovery goals.
After passive physio restores range of motion and reduces acute pain, active rehab rebuilds the strength and conditioning lost after a motor vehicle accident. Pre-approved under ICBC Enhanced Care.
Return-to-work programs built around the specific physical demands of your job — WorkSafeBC covered with functional capacity evaluation available.
After ACL reconstruction, knee replacement, rotator cuff repair, or spinal surgery — active rehab rebuilds strength, proprioception, and functional capacity beyond what physiotherapy alone achieves.
Graded exposure to movement through supervised exercise is one of the highest-evidence interventions for chronic musculoskeletal pain — reducing central sensitization and building resilience.
After prolonged illness, hospitalization, or extended rest — rebuilding cardiovascular fitness, strength, and movement confidence safely and progressively.
Sport-specific strength, power, agility, and neuromuscular control training — bridging the gap between clinical discharge and competitive performance.
Active rehab programs at Move to Motion are individualized — there are no generic exercise sheets or group classes. Every session is one-on-one with a certified kinesiologist who monitors your form, adjusts load and volume in real time, and progresses your program systematically based on your response.
Programs typically run 8–16 weeks depending on your condition, baseline fitness, and goals. Sessions are 45–60 minutes and take place in our dedicated exercise facility. A detailed home exercise program is provided and updated at each session to ensure progress continues between visits.
For ICBC and WorkSafeBC patients, active rehabilitation can begin immediately following your adjuster’s approval — which we facilitate on your behalf. For post-surgical and private patients, a referral from your physiotherapist or surgeon helps us design an appropriate program from day one.
Wear comfortable athletic clothing and supportive footwear to your sessions. Bring water. Arrive 10 minutes early for your first session to complete intake forms and allow time for your kinesiologist to conduct an initial assessment before beginning exercise.
